The OHA playoffs have commenced and to all who participated the league and media would like to thank you for a great season. Congratulations to Curse Reborn for taking back the title after a one season layoff as champs!

Tale of the Tape

While the Curse easily handled Cancel in the majority of games, this could have very well been a competitive matchup...had Cancel finished it that is. The series ended in unspectacular fashion as Cancel forfeited the remainder of the postseason just four games into the finals. While the driving force behind the forfeiture has been depicted as Cancel players merely giving up, the blame ultimately falls to team management for failing at their duties in spectacular fashion. A cup final forfeiture is unheard of and a disappointing way to wrap a season, not to mention a team that wouldn’t have forfeited was robbed of a chance to play for the title. Ultimately, Cancel had a good-not-great team and were nothing more than pretenders, Curse on the other hand proved they were the true contenders.

The Wrap

The Curse would have likely won the series regardless as they were the better team, still Cancel ultimately proved my point from the first week of playoffs that they were little more than sheep in wolves clothing. !CupCheck!

Reactions

In the immediate aftermath of the final buzzer, I sat down with Manny and Homie to discuss their victory and asked them if they had any messages for their opponent or the league...

Manny: Cancel already forfeited (presumably in reference to the two-night final) and 4thLine is the goat, the rest? Not so much...

Homie: GGEZ

Once again, congratulations to the Curse on another cup run and thank you to the entire league for another great season! The Media Team would also like to thank ThistleandWeeds for his contributions in his “rookie season”! Lastly, we would like to thank the commissioners for a well-run season that featured a competitive playoff and a great all-star game. See you next season!
