We asked each of the teams a few question about their experience with the OHA Season 16 Opening Night.

Here’s what they had to say.

How do you feel about your team’s performance opening night?

  • Forfeit Kings: (*smugly, overconfident tone*) You tell me.
  • Austin Rampage: Horrendous, not many people gave an effort but I don't see it as a major issue.
  • Cancel: Above average

Which player stood out on your roster?

  • Forfeit Kings: Sargent
  • Austin Rampage: Brady037
  • Cancel: WarSaw#8067

Based on the other team’s performances last night, who do you think will be the toughest team to face?

  • Forfeit Kings: Yolo Snipers or Cancel
  • Austin Rampage: Yolo Snipers
  • Cancel: (*remember how many times Tiarmach stuffed him*) Toxic hockey

Uzi Snipe is the current point leader, with 23 shots, 15 goals and 18 total points in 2 games. Do you think they are the point leader because they’re an all-star player, they just had a lucky night, or because the team they faced had an off night?

  • Forfeit Kings: Hahahahahaha - Translation: We played Toxic.
  • Austin Rampage: The team they faced.
  • Cancel: Offnight

Burky I95I stopped all 20 shots they faced, and currently have a 1.000% Save percentage. In your opinion, do you feel that he did so well based on his skill, the team in front of him or the team that they faced?

  • Forfeit Kings: mostly skill
  • Austin Rampage: Definitely the team, they didnt put in any effort to even give that guy a chance.
  • Cancel: Skill and team

SpruceMoose91 is sitting at a whopping 19 shots in 2 games, but only has a 26.3% Shot percentage. What advice would you give him to increase the number of pucks he puts in the back of the net?

  • Forfeit Kings: let your team help set you up
  • Austin Rampage: Be more patient with the puck and wait for some more openings. Taking shots is very good but if its not a good chance not much will happen.
  • Cancel: Right trigger

Stay tuned for part 2!

Part 2:

How do you feel about your team’s performance opening night?

  • Hudson River Kings: Optimistic, without our two best players we went into game 1 with a cobbled lineup and I thought we played with a lot of passion. Period 1 was a slaughter we were outshot 13-1 and losing 2-0 then we turned around with some great puck movement and got one, they answered back a few minutes later with a good tip and the game got out of our hands from there. Game two I thought we played really damn well, in the first five minutes we got a goal in off our dman, plus another good backdoor and tip by them. We railed back and gained one but a few great saves by their goalie and us not capitalizing have them the win. Overall, no one wants to lose especially when it’s not incredibly close on the scoreboard, but I know we got better hockey in us and hoping to have a better showing the rest of the week.

Which player stood out on your roster?

  • Hudson River Kings: Game 1 would have been an absolute slaughter if it wasn’t for nargsy (varlamov l1l) and he absolutely kept us competitive throughout the game. Game 2 Deke (Deke x 22) was keeping us in it, he made a few great defensive stops and was communicating incredibly well.

Based on the other team’s performances last night, who do you think will be the toughest team to face?

  • Hudson River Kings: Going into the season Yolo Snipers and FF Kings were clearly the favorites in my opinion and that still holds up, but once we get to playoffs you never know.

Uzi Snipe is the current point leader, with 23 shots, 15 goals and 18 total points in 2 games. Do you think they are the point leader because they’re an all-star player, they just had a lucky night, or because the team they faced had an off night?

  • Hudson River Kings: I think all the above, in 6s at any competitive level having 15 goals is an accomplishment, but a little bit of luck and ur opponents plays into it aswell.

Burky I95I stopped all 20 shots they faced, and currently have a 1.000% Save percentage. In your opinion, do you feel that he did so well based on his skill, the team in front of him or the team that they faced?

  • Hudson River Kings: Obviously a bit of both. 20 saves on 20 shots is a great feat, but when you win the way his team did you have to acknowledge that his team dominated in front of him. But again 20 saves on 20 shots is impressive and two shutouts are two shutouts.

SpruceMoose91 is sitting at a whopping 19 shots in 2 games, but only has a 26.3% Shot percentage. What advice would you give him to increase the number of pucks he puts in the back of the net?

  • Hudson River Kings: Try the Michigan.

Part 3:

How do you feel about your team’s performance opening night? *

  • I am pleased with my teams overall performance. We were unsure of what to expect from the team we were playing so we stuck to our game plan of quick puck movements and good team defense and were successful.

Which player stood out on your roster? *

  • Burky l95l

Based on the other team’s performances last night, who do you think will be the toughest one to face? *

  • Forfeit Kings and Cancel will be our toughest competition for sure. Both had good nights last night.

Uzi Snipe is the current point leader, with 23 shots, 15 goals and 18 total points in 2 games. Do you think they are the point leader because they’re an all-star player, they just had a lucky night, or because the team they faced had an off night? *

  • I feel it’s a combination of being a good player and playing against a team that had an off night. I’m sure he will continue to put up points in this league but not at the same capacity.

Burky I95I stopped all 20 shots they faced, and currently have a 1.000% Save percentage. In your opinion, do you feel that he did so well based on his skill, the team in front of him or the team that they faced? *

  • I feel this is a combination of all three options. He is a great goalie who made some good saves last night. My team preaches team defense, so I’d like to think we made playing goalie a little easier for him.

SpruceMoose91 is sitting at a whopping 19 shots in 2 games, but only has a 26.3% Shot percentage. What advice would you give him to increase the number of pucks he puts in the back of the net? *

  • SpruceMoose is a good player. He always manages a lot of shots. They will start going in the net. He just needs to keep putting pucks on net. The goals will come for him.
